Time Travel, Fun or Boring?     You know what?  I just might give up traveling through time. As you know, I can travel anywhere into the past. Of course I will continue to do so in order to research personally designed stories or poems for anyone who would like to hire me to create a story or poem about a loved one or themselves. I will also time travel for schools that would like a historical storytelling performance. The problem is: Every time I come back from the past people say, “You look older. You look fatter.”

Well sure. I’ve been away and the food is so organic and fresh at Plymouth Rock in 1620. I know I have to make some decisions, either live totally in the past or learn to enjoy and live predominantly in the present. Up until now each time I returned from a time travel journey everything in the present seemed a little boring. At first I thought it was because other times are more exotic. Then the truth dawned on me.  I can't time travel into the future but if I don’t travel into the past I will naturally move into the future in the regular way.

You see each time I return from a past journey it’s the same month, same day, same second I left. It's really too weird. So I’m going to live in the now except when I'm specifically hired to research a story or poem. I realize it’s going to take a lot more effort on my part to make my life exciting but I have to tell you. Now may just be the most exciting time. We have both the weirdest crazy warmongers and hopefully many wonderful peace loving people. More people than ever before are on the earth. Could this be the final show? I want to do my bit.  The true value of now is beyond all time machines.  One breath at a time is all we have.  Maybe someday I’ll tell you more about some of my time travel adventures.  But I just discovered a secret by not time traveling. When I stay in the present I get younger!
